GARY B POOLE
ENGLAND
BIOGRAPHY
Gary Poole, was born in 1965, to a mixed race family in London’s east end. It was obvious from an early age that a love affair with music was forming. Growing up listening to his mum play Sinatra and Herbie Hancock has given him a life long love of jazz, blues, and soul.
After learning to play the piano by ear, he discovered his voice singing along to records of the day, going on to form a band in teens which in turn led to the open mic/live band club scene!!
It was only a matter of time before he had his first record deal, before moving on to sing background vocals for D-Influence and touring most of the globe The next stop was to join a vocal group TROI, recording two successful albums. Feeling the need to do his own thing he stepped out of the group arena and went solo where we find a truer representation of his musicality.
Currently as well as his solo career, Gary is also a successful songwriter published through BMG/DI Publishing, and collaborating with the likes of Cool Million. He also shares his expertise as a vocal coach with the students at London Centre of Contemporary Music. His studio and live sessions include Prince, Joni Sledge, Alexander O’Neal, Average White Band, Shola Ama, D Influence and Jamiroquai.
